Today’s offering is a new post style that I hope will inspire you at this New Moon in Scorpio. The post presents a brief fictional letter from Grandmother Moon, honoring the courage to begin again. It also acknowledges the transformative power of stepping into the unknown.
The accompanying postcard is a talisman of sorts, a dusty memory pulled from a vintage scrapbook. It mirrors the letter’s themes of ancestral wisdom, emotional courage, and soulful rebirth.
I hope this lunation is bountiful, bringing you many insights and rewards.

A text only version of the letter is available below for easy reading.

I rarely share details of my personal life, but today marks the death of my husband in 2019. Sometimes we step bravely into the unknown and sometimes we are pushed. What arises in us can be surprising. The strengths, weaknesses, fears, successes, and failures create a completely new person. Acknowledging even one of them is a step on the bright path. I am not the me I was six years ago and I am still becoming. This anniversary, this Scorpio New Moon, is another step.
A Letter from Grandmother Moon
19 September 25
My dearest beloved,
I heard you’re setting off on a new adventure, and I wanted to write you a little something to tuck into your pocket.
Beginning anew is a kind of shedding. You leave behind the skin of what was familiar, and step into the mystery of what might be. That’s brave, sweetheart. It takes courage to enter the unknown, to place first one foot and then the other into the darkness. But I want you to know — you were made for this.
You are beginning this adventure with a New Moon in Scorpio, the sign of deep waters. Of secrets and soul truths, of quiet strength and fierce love. I carry the wisdom of all our grandmothers, the stories that live in bones, the kind of knowing that doesn’t need to be explained. And I see that same spark in you.
You might feel lonely at first, all on your own for this brave adventure. That’s okay. Loneliness is just the soul stretching toward connection. Let it stretch. Let it reach. You’ll find your people. You’ll find your rhythm. You’ll find yourself in ways you couldn’t have here at home.
And if you ever feel unsure, remember — you are allowed to change. You are allowed to grow. You are allowed to be both soft and strong, both quiet and wild. You are allowed to take your time.
Scorpio teaches us that transformation isn’t always pretty, but it’s always powerful. So cry if you need to. Laugh when it bubbles up. Write your thoughts in the margins of your notebooks. Light a candle when the night feels long. And trust that every step you take is part of your becoming.
I’ll be here, watching, whispering to you in dreams and singing in the moonlight. You will hear my voice whenever you need me. You are never alone, my love. You carry the lineage of all women who dared to begin again.
Brightest of blessings, beloved.
Grandmother Moon
