Free Time

Free (Find Reality Endlessly Entertaining) Time (Trust Indesctructible Mind's Eternity)
Isle of View Cards

Free Time strikes me as an oxymoron, like lengthy brief or jumbo shrimp.

I pulled these two cards together this morning from my new “think about it” bowl. It’s a bowl of mixed up cards from several different oracle decks. I choose one and think about the word on the card.

Maybe I had too much free time when I decided to mix them all up together.

It actually crossed my mind that eventually I’ll probably sit down and sort them all out again. Oh, well…it’ll be something to do on a boring day.

But can time (Saturn) really be free?

Freedom is reserved for Jupiter or Uranus, isn’t it? Jupiter has to expand…absolutely has to. And Uranus sure isn’t setting fence posts down at his little crazy farm to keep the residents in. Absolutely not. Those are free range nuts that Uranus is raising and, boy howdy, am I glad. They’re a major part of what keeps free “entertaining,” one of the words in the FREE card.

And take a look at the I in the TIME card. Indestructible. That’s a Saturn word for sure. Eternity? That’s another one.

It’ll take an eternity to sort those cards out, that’s for sure.

And what if there’s too much free time? Is that Jupiter run amok? Saturn taking a rare day off? If you’ve ever had wayyy too much free time, it probably felt more like Saturn than Jupiter.

Do you have too much free time or too little? How much do you like?

‘Free time.’ I’ve heard about that. Don’t fool yourself.

  1. Free time and Saturn? Only if you’re terribly good at not wasting time by doing things in an inefficient way. Another thing that sounds like an oxymoron (that’s a moron who’s addicted to oxycotin.) is “serious fun,” but I can tell you that there is such a fun, because I have it all the time when I’m writing and gathering bits of research and putting things in the best possible order.

Love your idea of mixing all your inspirational card decks in a bowl and studying one at a time. I’ll bet there is plenty of serendipity in the card choice. I do something like that with my big old manual from A Course in Miracles. When I’m troubled about something that’s keeping me up nights, I hold the book, ask for help in straightening out my mind. Then I open the book at random, and my eyes inevitably rest on a passage that is uncannily relevant to what’s bothering me. Donna

    1. I get what you mean about serious fun. Everything flows and there’s a payoff that’s incredibly satisfying. You never want to stop. Those are the best of times.
