Auntie Moon

We are drawing close to the end of another very difficult year. Just when we thought nothing could top 2020, 2021 came along to add fuel to the fire. We came to accept a lot of things that we would never have dreamed of back in 2019. Or, we railed against them and fought to maintain our way of life. Either way, our days are different now.

Sagittarius isn’t big into accepting the status quo. The Archer knows there’s more out there, new things to discover, paths yet untraveled. He has hope for better times.

I designed this reading sheet to serve as either a tarot spread, journal prompts, or topics for contemplation for this Sagittarius New Moon/Solar Eclipse. They are the Archer’s tools: a bow, an arrow, and a target, that something to aim for to make our days worthwhile.

This reading sheet prints at 8.5 x 11″, but you can reduce it to save some ink. I printed it at half size to add to my New Moon journal.

What skill do you already have that can help you reach what you envision for the future? That’s your bow. You may have used it many times in the past. It feels good in your hands, an old friend you’ve come to depend upon.

Which arrow would you pull from your quiver that will be an aid in your focus? The Archer has many arrows. Which will serve best at this time?

Lastly, what is your target. Are you aiming at something specific or just shooting arrows into the air to see where they may land? That target, or the lack of one, is the point of this New Moon in Sagittarius. Maybe these last two years have worn you out, and you just don’t see the point anymore. If that’s the case, maybe this is the catalyst you need to find optimism and hope again.

If your target seems too far away, pull it in. The next marker on our lunar journey is the Full Moon in Gemini on December 18th. It will be here in the blink of an eye, in only two weeks. Gemini brings a fresh perspective, an untarnished eye, a willingness to learn something new. I’m going to open my heart to that and encourage you to open yours, too.

After that, we move into Capricorn’s landscape where we will find practical measures to manifest what we hoped for during Sagittarius.
