There are two standard ways to read the minor arcana cards astrologically. One is through the decans, the three 10° divisions of each sign. The other assigns a planet in a sign to each of the minor cards. See Part 1 for reading reversed cards astrologically as retrogrades or eclipses.
6 of Pentacles: 2nd Decan Taurus, Moon in Taurus
Approximate Dates Sun is in this Decan: May 1-10
Planets in the second decan (10-19.59°) of Taurus are ruled by Venus (or Earth, if you prefer) and sub-ruled by Mercury, as this is the Virgo decan. If you have the Sun or Moon in this decan, the 6 of Pentacles is a significator card for you. If you have third or sixth house Taurus planets in this decan, the Mercurial influence is accentuated.

Charity seems to be the focus of most decks for this card but it also addresses our ability to receive. Drawing this card might indicate that you’ll be in need of deep pockets to financially support a family member or that you may need help from someone else. Most of us have been in both situations. Charity and shame never walk hand in hand. Give when you can, and receive what you will.
The 6 of Pentacles from The Tarot of Trees is a gorgeous depiction of the give/receive polarity. Nature has very wisely created a symbiotic way to survive ~ and none of her creations keeps score. Every form of life is assured a next generation by sharing with another form.
Moon in Taurus extends its antenae toward the physical world. These are the practical but gentle Earth Mothers or Earth Fathers who need a connection to nature to stay emotionally healthy. Many emotional ills can be healed by spending time outside every day.
Moon in Taurus fears an empty belly and can imagine walking a mile or more in worn out shoes, so there can be a great deal of empathy for the material needs and comforts of others. They can go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, often sacrificing their own comfort for yours ~ unless they don’t like you. If that happens, sharing stops and empathy is blocked.
The Moon is exalted in Taurus, so it’s very at ease in this sign. When happy, it’s comfortable, has enduring love, and a true desire to nurture in physical ways ~ people, animals, the earth itself. When uphappy or in survival mode, Moon in Taurus can get a little grubby. Then, there’s never enough to go around.
