There are a few times during every lunation when the Moon gets a little breathing room and other times when it seems like she’s running for her life. Pinpointing those times can help us find some soft spots to fall when we feel like we’ve been running to and fro in haste. To do this, we need to check the Cosmic Weather Report.
How’s the weather out there?
Cold and dreary? Hot and humid? Are you comfortable or uncomfortable?
I know these charts are boring, but they are packed with great info. Hang with me on this.
The Cosmic Weather
Cosmic Weather is a term astrologers use to talk about the aspects between the planets. These are the aspects I write about on the daily transits I post on my Face Book page. If you don’t have FB, visit this page daily and you can see them on the FB window on the right side over there. →
(This pic opens up to a list of all of November’s transits that you can download for free.)
These lunar connections give us a feel for the general cosmic weather, what’s happening “out there,” in the public. I find them to be helpful when I’m with someone who is not on the same page as me. It helps me understand the back story, so to speak.
We can look for all the trines and sextiles the Moon makes during the lunation. These are times of ease that can get overlooked when we’re out there, in public, that we can use to our advantage. We generally respond to the tougher moments and don’t notice the easy ones.
The Inner Weather
It can be 95° and stormy outside. Inside, though, the air conditioning is running and we’re snuggled under a blanket. It might be freezing cold outside, but inside we’ve got the heat turned up and a fire blazing to keep us warm. That’s the difference between the Cosmic Weather (transit to transit aspects) and our Inner Weather which are transits to our natal planets.
My mood might not match up well with what’s happening in the public. Lunar transits to our natal planets are good indicators for how we might respond to the Cosmic Weather. It’s why we turn up the heat when it’s cold outside or cool down with the air conditioning in the hot days of summer.
Sometimes we don’t need to make any adjustments. We can open the windows and enjoy the Cosmic Weather as is. Our Inner Weather is in tune with the Cosmic Weather.

On November 6 in the example list, the Moon is conjunct Mars in Capricorn. It’s a good time for getting lots of work done with strength and endurance. It can also mean that someone out there in the public is in a cranky mood and wants to argue.
On November 6 in the bottom list, the Transiting Moon is opposite my natal Venus. Uh-oh. That’s not the most confident time for me. I could respond poorly to someone who’s pushing me beyond my reach or makes some comment that I take too personally.
On November 5, the Moon squares Uranus in the Cosmic Weather report and opposes Uranus in my natal transits. The weather isn’t really good outside or inside. It’s a double red-light time. I might need to pause and wait a while if I feel like my emotions are going to explode. Otherwise, things might get blown way out of proportion.
On November 2, Moon conjuncts Saturn in the Cosmic Weather list and sextiles my Natal Saturn. That sounds like a fairly solid day as long as I stay positive and keep my nose to the grindstone. Much can be accomplished.
That’s how to read the Cosmic Weather Report and see how your Inner Weather is working with it. There are lots of places you can get a transit report online. Get one today.
The work book for the Sagittarius lunation will be available soon. In the meantime, you can still use the Scorpio workbook to help get you through the waning phase of the Scorpio lunation.
