Tools for the Moon in Pisces

Moon in Pisces is dreamy, intuitive, and extremely sensitive. There may be an urge to draw inward or retreat from the noise of the world. Underdogs can capture our attention, and we may rush in to help save them whether they want us to or not. Our dreamworld can take on a life of its own.

The Crescent Moon is in Pisces January 2 and 3, entering Aries at 11:20am ET on January 4th.

There are so many things that can support our well-being and efforts as we work with the sign of the daily Moon. These are a few of the things I’ve chosen to work with during Pisces. I took a few pics of the Pisces pages in my Moon book, something I put together to make things easier in following the Moon. f you’re interested, there’s an explanation of how I put it together at the bottom of the post.

TAROT

I’m working with the Gill Tarot (see note below*)  for January. It’s an unusual deck, one that I never use. I’ve decided to pull the cards for the Moon’s sign to go with my daily intentions for Pisces and to tune into the Daily Vibes. Some of the Cards associated with Pisces are The Moon (Pisces), The Hanged Man (Neptune) and the Knight of Cups (Pisces). I pulled another card as a daily draw and got the 8 of Cups, also a card of Pisces. The Gill Tarot calls this card “Instability.” It’s an excellent card to support my daily intention of bringing some structure to my daily life by starting a daily routine.

Daily routines are Virgo’s domain, the opposing sign of Pisces. If Pisces is chaos, Virgo is structure via a daily routine.  Today the groundwork was laid. Tomorrow the steps will be repeated until it becomes a habit.

Personal Note: Life changes dramatically when you don’t have a job to to get up and go to. Some of you dream of that. Others know what I’m talking about. It can get old. Structure can disappear simply because you don’t have to be any place regularly. You do what you want to do and sometimes you don’t want to do anything. I got lazy with some things and structure disappeared. So pulling a card called “Instability” feels like territory I know all too well and am choosing to leave behind.

*I was going to link to the Gill Tarot on Amazon, but it’s A FORTUNE! Who knew out-of-print decks  could be so expensive?

Crystals

Like the signs, crystals cover a lot of territory. They fit more than one sign and have more than one meaning. I pulled some cards for crystals from the AORA Gemstone Oracle Cards to include in my Pisces pages. Each has an affirmation about the qualities of the card that seemed to fit Pisces nicely.

Affirmations:
Azurite: “Enjoy your life fully here on Earth, for it is an important step on your journey home.”
Herkimer Diamond: “Magic is alive and well; it lives within you.”

I’m fortunate to have a Herkimer Diamond so I placed it in a ramekin of salt water to charge it with a little Pisces Moon water added for ooomph!

And yet, I went with Amethyst. I dug out a pair of Amethyst earrings that I haven’t worn in ages. My philosophy is to always trust your intuition, so if something doesn’t feel right, go with what does. We’re in the Crescent Phase now which encourages us to trust our instincts. How could I not stick with the amethyst earrings?

Amethyst today. Herkimer tomorrow.

Chakra

I associate Pisces with the Crown Chakra because of the spiritual connection. (Of course there are decks for chakras and, of course, I have one.) I chose the Healing card from the Crown chakra cards in the Chakra Oracle Card Pack. A while back I took Dixie Vogel’s Everyday Chakras Workshop on Udemy. It’s still available and I highly recommend it. I was reviewing her info on the Crown chakra and, synchronicity!, amethyst is the crystal associated with it.

Color

I also happened to put on a violet and white top today, another thing I haven’t worn in ages. I wasn’t even thinking about the purples of amethyst and the crown chakra when I picked it out. I’m also diffusing lavender essential oil. I usually go to sleep to that, but it was a day thing today.

Making a Moon Book

The book I put together is a combination of the Capricorn New Moon Workbook and the Daily Vibes for January. I put the Daily Vibe pages behind the Phase page that covers those dates. The Crescent phase runs from January 1-4 so I put the pages for Jan 1-4 behind it. The next phase is the First Quarter phase (Jan 5-8). Behind that page, I put the Daily Vibe pages for Jan 5-8.

I pulled the tarot cards for each sign listed on the Daily Vibes and some cards from my crystal and chakra decks. I used a deck I rarely use because it’s fresh and gives me a new perspective. Use any deck you like…or one you don’t. Discoveries will be made no matter which you use.

I spent about an hour putting it together for the whole month. That time was well spent and helped me connect to the whole lunar cycle—where I am now and where I’ll be at the end of the month.

Opening my Moon book and pondering the correspondences and forming my daily intention is a good way to start the day and connect with the daily Moon. I’ve got my daily transits in there, too, for good measure. And like my amethyst earrings, I’ll make good use of things I haven’t used in a while.

Next month I’ll choose a different deck and maybe an oracle deck instead of crystals. It’s an “in the moment” kind of thing. Trust your instincts. Follow your heart. Stick to your daily intentions. Make a dream come true.
