The Disseminating phase of the Sagittarius lunation brings us to the end of Autumn. The phase ends with the Moon in Libra just before the Sun moves into Capricorn on the Winter Solstice, December 21st.
The Moon in Leo through mid-day Sunday on the 18th can have us getting in the holiday spirit, even if it has escaped us so far. On a personal note, this has been an especially rotten week for me and, even if I have to hunt it down like prey, I am determined to find some joy in the final days leading up to the holidays. Sagittarius needs it. Leo needs it. Let’s get us some.
In the disseminating phase of sowing seeds under a Leo Moon, it would not be too trite to say, “spread the love” far and wide. But it’s not just about spreading joy and love, but also about being able to receive it. That takes an open heart.
I was able to sit in on a meditation for Leo with Michelle Gregg, astrologer, that was especially lovely. During the meditation, we were asked to imagine all the people we had ever loved standing in a circle around us. Beloved friends, family, and pets who are with us now or that we had lost long ago were there to remind us just how much we are loved and also to recall how much love we had shared in our lives. If these days leading up to the holidays are lonely ones for you, imagine yourself in the center of that circle. Bask in the glow and feel the warmth of love in your heart.
The Moon in Virgo, Sunday through Tuesday, takes a more pragmatic approach. Where exactly are these seeds to be planted? Where is the most fertile ground?
The Leo Moon spreads the seeds of joy and love far and wide. The Virgo Moon is more discriminating adhering to the proverb, “Cast not your pearls before swine.”
The Moon moves into Libra Tuesday evening, the 20th, to close out the phase. Sometimes a balance is needed between spreading too much love and not enough. No other sign can handle a balancing act like Libra. These days can be beneficial for deliberations and choosing wisely.
As Autumn comes to a close and the landscape becomes stark and open, we are the Archer seeking refuge in the warmth of our homes and loved ones. Perhaps someone is seeking refuge in you. Love, joy, discrimination, and balance are the tools of the phase.
