Today the Moon phase changes from Crescent, when we learn to trust our instincts, to the First Quarter Phase. This is the phase of adaptation and taking action. As one phase eases into the other, what do we do?
Blending signs, houses, phases, and transits can be daunting. Just when we think we have a handle on a phase or a sign, another quickly replaces it. Fortunately, the Moon moves quickly lessening the time we spend waiting for changes to come our way.
On a day like today when the phase changes from Crescent to First Quarter in the middle of the day, we can time our activities to coordinate with the changes. Feel what’s in your gut in the morning, trust it, and then adapt any plans you have and take action in the afternoon. It sounds complicated, but it can be done.
Here’s how I went about blending 1) the Crescent Moon 2) in Aquarius 3) in my first house 4) changing to the First Quarter phase. And I had fun doing it!
Crescent Phase
This morning I was running some errands when I suddenly remembered a conversation my friend, Patricia, and I had about getting a booth at the local flea market. I thought that I would make a quick stop there and inquire about their booth rental availability and fees. They had two booths available. One was a large one at a steeper price than I wanted to spend. But the other one was a really neat little booth available for a beyond reasonable fee which when Patricia and I split the cost, would work out to $27/month. Unheard of!! My instincts to stop off and make an inquiry were paying off.
Moon in the First House
On Days 6 and 7, I talked about our Inner Full Moon and lunar transits of the 12th house. Once a 12th house transit has ended, the Moon moves into our first house which is the way we present ourselves to other people, our physical body, and personality. Having the Moon transit our first house can be really nice. Astrologer Michael Erlewine calls it a “lunar peak.” I know I usually enjoy it very much. It’s not quite as nice as a Venus transit through the first house, but it’s one I really like.

I had trusted my instincts to stop by and and check things out. That’s a Crescent phase activity. Since I know the Moon is moving through my first house, I decided to take advantage of a little moonshine magic and spend some time chatting with the owner and her assistant instead of just blandly inquiring, getting the details, and leaving without making a particularly good impression. Instead, I got them excited about the odd things I would be selling.
My booth would be very unusual compared to the other booths in the store. That’s Aquarius, today’s Moon sign.
I love the lightning flash in the Symbolon’s version of The Fool card. It highlights the lightning flash that marks how Aquarius receives information.
Moon moves into First Quarter Phase
I have to say that I am champing at the bit to call up the owner and say I’ll take the booth. Because the phase is changing, though, I’ll hold off until later in the day. Maybe even until tomorrow. I’ll have to trust my gut a little while longer. Tomorrow the Moon moves into my second house, the money-maker house. Maybe that’s an even better time to make a move on earning some extra money.
My Original New Moon Dream was to clean out my shop. Period. I can now use the First Quarter phase to adapt my plan to use lots of the items I would have tossed to use in the new booth.
If we follow our lunar transits each month, we can pick times that support our activities. Want to know more about transit reports? Click here.
