The Moon has changed from gentle Pisces to fiery Aries, from Last Quarter to Gibbous. We’re only days away from the focal point of the lunar cycle ~ the Full Moon. How are you doing so far?
Bite off more than you can chew, then chew it. ~ Ella Williams
And if we fail? We fail. Screw your courage to the sticking place and we’ll not fail. ~ Shakespeare, MacBeth
Back in the day when I was in the acting business, there was always a very tense moment before the curtain went up on opening night. Backstage in the dark, we listened to the chatter and laughter of the crowd winding its way into the wings and watched as the crew made last minute adjustments to the set and props.
Some actors were full of energy and anticipation, champing at the bit to get out there on the stage. Others were nervous wrecks, shaking their hands, going over their lines again and again, getting “in character.”
Then everything became still. The houselights dimmed and we took our places on stage in the dark. One thing was extremely important ~ don’t let the light catch you before you get into place.
That’s where we are in the lunar cycle.
This is the scary phase to me. It’s the time of last minute preparations, final adjustments, waiting in the wings. Once we step out onto the stage at the Full Moon, we have to be prepared. There’s no more time for learning lines. If a stage prop is missing, you’ll have to improvise. A cast member may have been brought in at the last minute to replace another actor. You cover for their mistakes. The show must go on.
Having Aries wait with us is heartening. Here’s the hero of the zodiac, the courageous warrior, guiding us into the spotlight.
Today’s tool for the Scorpio lunation is to find your place in the dark.
If you’re afraid, go ahead and be afraid.
Screw your courage to the sticking place, and prepare to step into the light.
