Two very different remedies may bring relief from the blues or grief. Saturn, Capricorn’s ruling planet, is associated with grief, the blues, sadness, and all forms of melancholia. Essential oils are no cure for the real causes of melancholia, but I do believe they can offer some temporary relief.
I love aromatherapy inhalers. I have cats, so diffusing oils can be a problem since cats are extremely sensitive. Inhalers are easy to make, last a long time, and you can carry them anywhere. Here are some I made using two different blends.
Heart’s Ease is my blend to get some emotional relief from feeling so down. It helps us cope. It’s a blend of neroli, rose, and cypress to ease our hearts, even if only for a few minutes. Use whenever you feel that first tinge of melancholia coming on or when you just need to sit with it for a while. And sometimes, we need to do just that.
Add to an aromatherapy inhaler:
- 5 drops neroli
- 5 drops rose
- 5 drops cypress
Neroli is ruled by the Sun to increase our life force, rose by Venus to feel a loving connection, and cypress by Saturn for strength. Why include a Saturn oil in a Saturn remedy? Because Saturn isn’t all negative, you know. We need his strength and dedication.
Sometimes, we just need to feel a little joy in our lives to help us get over those Saturn blues. The second remedy, called….what else…Joy, is a delicious blend of 12 essential oils made by Eden’s Garden to uplift your spirit. Remember something that made you laugh or that gave you a sense of peace as you use this inhaler. Joy is an Edens Garden blend which you can purchase by the bottle directly from Edens Garden or Amazon.* This blend can be diffused or a few drops added to an aromatherapy pendant or hanky to carry with you. (Don’t diffuse with pets or young children in the room with you.) If you’re making an inhaler, add 15 drops.
*I have no affiliation with Edens Garden or Amazon. I just like them both very much.
Here’s my signature Capricorn Oil for whenever I want a Capricorn boost:
