The closing of one door and opening of another makes this time of year both joyful and serious. The Capricorn blues can crop up at the oddest times, so keep your chin up and find the bright side even when things seem much too serious. Saturn, Capricorn’s ruling planet, has entered this sign for the next couple of years. It’s make it or break it time in this part of your chart. Success is on the horizon. Follow the rules now, break them when the Sun moves into Aquarius.
I don’t have a single holiday decoration up this year. That’s been the trend the past few years. I promise I haven’t turned into Scrooge…well, maybe a little. I did break my foot a while back. That’s slowed me down a lot and made me cranky. But it’s more than that. It’s not just this year’s physical set back. It’s most years. I think it has a lot to do with Capricorn being the 12th house of my chart.
It’s the house of retreat, escape.
When I was working, I liked taking one of my vacation weeks between Christmas and New Year’s. It was always a staycation. I never went anywhere. Having that time to myself for both the joy and the seriousness of this time of year was a blessing. Plus, I got some of the necessary retreat and escape time that my chart indicates. With Chiron in Capricorn, I really could get some good mental and physical healing taken care of. My one hospital recovery time was while the Sun was in my 12th.
Houses matter. They’re the key to the rooms of our lives.
When you read your horoscope, please read your rising sign’s forecast. Please. You’ll learn a lot about what’s happening in your world. What house in your chart has Capricorn on the cusp? That’s the area of life that will be in high focus for you until the Sun enters Aquarius.
Think of annual transits as recurring dreams. They always carry the same info and feelings, even if the details change a little.
What recurs year after year for you during Capricorn?
That can be a harder question to answer now than it would, say, in August. We do have holidays that take up a lot of activities and memories. Think about it, though. What are you compelled to do in most years when the Sun is in Capricorn, even if it’s mid-January?
By the time the New Moon arrives on January 16, you’ll become aware of something in that area of your life. Watch for it. Stay alert. Stay focused. Be serious and stay joyful.
