The Full Moon in Cancer is January 12th, 6:35am ET. Set your containers out tonight, the 11th, to make Moon Water, or make some Full Moon Blessing Salt.
I saw the Blessing Salt on The Penniless Pagan and loved the idea. Salt is ruled by Capricorn and the Moon is Cancer’s ruler so this is a wonderful combination. I used lemon zest, lemon balm, mugwort, jasmine, eucalyptus, and rose petals to make the salt. Use it in a ritual that calls for salt or when you just want to sprinkle some goodness around the house. I also put some shells in for good measure and to symbolize Cancer.
Leave it in the moonlight tonight along with Moon Water if you’re making it. This seems like a nice salt for making sea water: add 3½ teaspoons of the salt to 4¼ cups of water.
My bowl of Blessing Salt is sitting on top of the Cancer Cheat Sheet which you can download here: Cancer Cheat Sheet.
Here are some of my favorite symbols for Cancer.
Pearls, rubies, and moonstones are all jewels of Cancer. Rubies are the birthstone for July making it a great stone for second and third decan Cancers. Pearls (June’s birthstone) is a fantastic stone for June-born and first decan Cancers.
Elephants are my favorite totem for Cancer. They are known for their memory and devotion to family with Aunties helping to raise the young calves. Plus, they honor their ancestors, family, and friends sometimes trekking long distances to visit in the elephant graveyard.
Shells, of course, are a natural for Cancer. Speaking of shells…
Enjoy this little Hermit Crab finding a new home and moving her important anemones with her. They enjoy meals together. Naturally.
