New Moon in Aquarius ~ A Ceremony to Clear the Air

The New Moon in Aquarius is fixed air. After all these months of being cooped up with closed windows, it’s time to get things moving again. We have plenty of tools at hand to get that air, chi, energy flowing.

We started the month with New Year’s Day and a New Moon, and now we’re bringing it to a close with another New Moon and Chinese New Year on January 30, 2014. You know that has to be a rare occurrence, and certainly reason to celebrate. It’s like a second chance at out with the old, in with the new.

Clearing the Air is one of the simplest ceremonies or rituals you can do. You’re looking to move the chi and there are several ways to do that:

  • Open your windows and let some fresh air flow through your home.
  • If the weather doesn’t allow that, turn on a fan.
  • If you don’t have a fan, wave your arms, twirl, or simply put your lips together and blow. Walk through each room waving, twirling, or blowing until you feel a change. Breathe your New Moon intention in and as you exhale, set the current in motion.
  • Sage the area to clear the space, remembering to fan the embers and keep the smoke moving.

Remember that with New Moons intention is everything. Aquarius is about freedom and good things for all people. Open your mind (and your heart) to the idea that abundance, prosperity, creativity, or whatever you desire can ride in on fresh currents. It will require a great deal of effort on your part to make your ideas real. That’s not a huge problem for an Aquarius Moon. That fixed attitude will add fortitude to your intentions. Just remember: if you believe it, and are willing to work for it, you can make it so.

Do not worry if you have built your castles in the air.
They are where they should be.
Now put the foundations under them.
